Your journey to the hotel is relatively easy. Oberhof is located in the middle of the Thuringian Forest. You can reach Oberhof from all German conurbations in a maximum of two to four hours. The spa town of Oberhof lies at around 820 metres above sea level. You should bear this in mind when packing your clothes, as it can quickly become fresh and windy. When you arrive at our hotel in Oberhof, we will welcome you from 15:00. Of course, you can also arrive earlier if you wish, in which case we will store your luggage until your room is available. Depending on occupancy, an earlier check-in may also be possible. We recommend simply asking or already mentioning an early arrival when making your hotel reservation.
Your rooms on a romantic holiday
At the Schlossberghotel Oberhof you have a choice of different room categories. Depending on your needs and budget. The economy rooms in the hotel are the cheapest. They are located in the historic part of the hotel and are only accessible via stairs. They have the most basic furnishings. A highlight, on the other hand, is the tower room, right at the top of the turret. (Here, too, it is accessible on foot). The tower room is a room category all its own, it has two rooms and is completely individually designed. Gladly booked for a very special occasion.
The Standard Rooms are conveniently located in the central part of our hotel. They can be reached by lift. The cosy double bed is complemented by a sitting area with cocktail chairs. The Comfort Rooms offer you more comfort and more space. These are located under the roof and are completely individual due to the sloping roof.
Our Premium rooms are perfect for a romantic holiday. These are located behind soundproof doors in the newest part of our hotel and are very spacious. With a sitting area and a very large flat-screen TV, they are our highlights.
Wellness on a romantic holiday
For a romantic break, wellness is certainly a must for you too. Finally, just relax, let your soul dangle. A little round in the hotel pool, a sauna session together and then idleness. Or you can let yourself be pampered with a massage. From head to toe, our physiotherapists offer massage variations with their magic hands.

Around the hotel
Hiking is not really your thing? No big deal in Oberhof either. The small town on the Rennsteig offers all kinds of other activities. First and foremost, of course, the famous Oberhof sports facilities. You should definitely pay them a visit. Imposing buildings where you can always watch active competitive athletes training. Or you can try yourself as a biathlete and take part in the biathlon shooting for guests.
Right next to our hotel, the H2Oberhof Wellnessbad is a wonderful addition to our hotel's own wellness area. Various pools - indoor and outdoor - and eight saunas of different sizes and equipment invite you to linger.
The Rennsteig Garden can also be romantic, simply book a picnic with a view at our reception. The Rennsteig Garden is a botanical garden for mountain flora, just a short distance from the hotel.
